Tis The Season....

Now that we are in the Christmas Season, what does it mean to you? We as mothers have alot on our shoulders! Making Christmas magic for our famlies is hard work! Have you ever rushed to the store on Chrismas Eve because you found that it wasnt fair for every child, it has to be the same amount for everyone! Not only do we worry about our famlies but its neighbor gifts, teacher gifts, friend gifts! I have to admit sometimes I start to get anxiety when the holidays approach. I have had to take a hard look at myself and say Why? I have decided not to be so hard on myself, its not that Im forgetting the true meaning of Christmas, I have worked so hard to teach my children just that! Christmas is a time to show everyone around us how much we love them, its not by the size of the gift or how much we spend but it is to show our love, giving something! So I say of course its natural to feel anxiety and worry alittle on how we can pull of the perfect Christmas! LOVE is hard work, we as women are making memories. We all have to find what works best for us and our famlies. I am ever grateful for the birth of our savior Jesus Christ, the true meaning of Christmas. why we work so hard to feel his spirit while we truly serve our famlies, teachers, neighbors, friends! I love the feeling of giving!!! Love infinity xoxo

Thanks for the reminder on why we do what we do and to not beat ourselves up. Man if only we as MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS, FRIENDS etc could figure out balance in our lives .... wouldn;t that be great? I too love the holidays. THey represent family time which for me is my love language. (quality time) So to me the best gift is time WELL spent with the people I love, FRIENDS and FAMILY, It's so easy to get caught up in the stress of it all. So heres my challeng to myself.... Don't sweat the small stuff, be true to myself and show love to all in any way I can. You are the best Lori! You make me want to be better
Love you ! Melia

It's true... EVERY Christmas was special because of MOM! IF it were left up to dad we would have a devotional on Christmas Eve, the neighbs would get nothen', the kids would get nothen' the fam would get nothen'! But we still would somehow know that we were loved! Mom takes care of it all!!! and makes Christmas not only loving, but magical! I would dare bet that your children don't have a clue what it feels like to have a mediocre Christmas... and not feeling love is as foreign to them as mars. That is credited to their amazing DNA... Good job! Go ahead and pat yourself wherever it feels good! You make us all feel like that! I'm so glad I know you. Get moven' lady... 25 magical days to go. Christmas is in the air!

Oh, gosh the anxiety of it all! But, it turns out so nice. Moms may not always know how much their children appreciate all the efforts, thought, and traditions that are put into the holidays. Sorry I blab about myself the whole time you get your hair done! Its suppose to be the other way around. Ugh! Well, it was good to see you, and thanks for being such a good listener.

You hit the nail on the head! Christmas, just like everything we do as moms is about balance. Getting the right balance is no small feat and I'm not sure if I ever accomplish it, but it is the goal of every mother. Christmas is so special and I think I feel that way because of my mother. Let's hope all we do is enough and remember we have lots of help (from above:). You make everything perfect! You've taught me so much about balance and making things magical just by being my friend. You're a terrific example to all of us how to love unconditionally and I think that is the secret to almost everything! Love You! (Thanks for posting again:)

it must be the mother instinct that kicks in after you have kids that drives you to want them to know exactly why we celebrate christmas, and maybe care a little less about presents. i loved this long awaited post. you are the best!!
